The Wheelchair Race also saw some exciting competitions.
In the Men's Marathon Philimon Kiptoo Kipchumba from Kenya became the first to race home in a winning time of 2hrs 10mins 47secs.
Fantu Eticha Jimma from Ethiopia secured the top spot in the Women's Marathon in a time of 2hrs 27mins 50secs.
Continuing as a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race, the 25th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon attracted some 500 overseas runners, including the line-up of 13 elite runners, following the easing of the Covid measures in Hong Kong.
