The 2024 World Lacrosse Women's U20 Championship organized by the Hong Kong, China Lacrosse Association, take place from 15 to 24 August, with Hong Kong being the first city in Asia to host the championship.To celebrate the occasion, a press conference was held on 1 June to kick off this prestigious international sporting event. Entering the final month countdown to the event, the organizers have launched a series of warm-up activities, hoping that citizens can gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of lacrosse before the competition. Among the highlight activities, the lacrosse community tour exhibition and experience, co-organized by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office, was held at THE FOREST in Mong Kok from July 13 to 14. The exhibition activities included display boards showcasing the history of lacrosse development, 3D photo-taking spots, and a reaction light challenge. The association's mascot "Krox" made its debut appearance, further bringing the sport of lacrosse into Hong Kong communities and stirring up citywide enthusiasm for lacrosse.
Entering the final days countdown to the event, the organizers have specially collaborated with the Yau Tsim Mong District Office to hold the second stop of the lacrosse community tour exhibition and experience at the Piazza of Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui on August 10 and 11. They hope that citizens can gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of lacrosse before the competition. The exhibition activities include basic lacrosse experience, 3D photo-taking spots, reaction light challenge, and a tic-tac-toe shooting challenge. This time, they've specially added U20 athletes' experience sharing and cheerleading performances to liven up the event. The association's mascot "Krox" also made an appearance!
The organizers held a Welcome Cocktail Party on 13th to welcome the representatives from various countries who will be participating in the upcoming tournaments, showcasing Hong Kong's hospitality and elegance as the host. The cocktail party brought together representatives of consulates of the participating countries, athletes, and coaches.

Popular Cantopop group Lolly Talk, who sang and danced to several energetic songs at the end, elevated the atmosphere to a climax.
Following the opening ceremony is the thrilling opening match, where the host Hong Kong, China vs Jamaica to officially kick off the competition. Team Hong Kong won the match with a final score of 13:2.
The third day of the competition unfolded today. Facing England, who finished fourth in the previous tournament, the Hong Kong team showed no fear. Anbie Chan (#23) even earned a penalty shot opportunity early in the first period and successfully scored, netting the first goal of the entire match. Unfortunately, the Hong Kong team was unable to maintain their offensive momentum afterwards, ultimately losing the game with a score of 1:18.
The "world number one" United States team demonstrated their dominant form, securing a decisive victory over Puerto Rico with a score of 28:3.
The fourth day of competition began, with the Hong Kong team putting up a strong fight but ultimately falling to Ireland 5:20. In the group stage, they currently hold a record of one win and two losses, ranking fourth.
Last tournament's fourth-place finisher, England, faced off against Japan, Asia's top-ranked team. After initially trailing 3:6 in the early stages, Japan regained their rhythm and mounted a 5:0 scoring run. They eventually secured a come-from-behind victory with a final score of 12:7, reclaiming the top position in their group.
The sixth day of competition unfolded with Japan defeating Hong Kong 17:2, securing the top spot in their group and advancing. Hong Kong will move on to compete in the 13-16th place classification matches , facing Israel.
The United States team's top position remained unchallenged. In their final group stage match, they overwhelmed Israel with a score of 34:2, undoubtedly advancing to the quarter-finals as the group leaders.
The seventh day of competition began with Chinese Taipei staging a remarkable comeback after initially trailing 5:0. They ultimately achieved a miraculous victory over New Zealand with a final score of 17:16.
The China team defeated the Haudenosaunee 14:8 and will now face Ireland to compete for the 9th place.
On the ninth day of competition, Hong Kong played their final match, losing to New Zealand 9:16, and finished the championship in 16th place overall./td>
The Chinese team achieved a historic 9th place finish by defeating Ireland 16:11.
A ten-day world class lacrosse tournament, the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's U20 Championship (WLUW20C) successfully concluded! The closing ceremony drew to a close at the Mong Kok Stadium, with the participation of a group of officiating guests, elite lacrosse athletes and spectacular performance. During the ceremony, Hon Vincent CHENG, MH, JP, Legislative Council Member, Mr. Paul, WONG Yan Yin, JP, District Officer (Sham Shui Po), Mr. Philip K. Y. The tense and thrilling gold medal match unfolded just beforethe closing ceremony, featuring the "World-Class Battle" between Team Canada and Team United States. Team United States Claimed the championship.
Team Japan performed heroically and Ultimately secured the bronze medal.
