BACKGROUND

2024 the 12th Yao Foundation Charity Game will be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on the evening of August 20, 2024. Led by NBA icons such as Paul George, a 9-time All-Star, and Jimmy Butler, a 6-time All-Star, the International Basketball Stars Team will face off against the Chinese Basketball Stars Team, which is composed of selected champions from the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) in the Charity Game. Having held 11 editions since 2007, the Yao Foundation Charity Game has dedicated all funds raised to supporting charitable initiatives such as the Yao Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season.

The theme of 2024 the 12th Yao Foundation Charity Game is "Grow with Sports, Embrace Hong Kong with Love."In addition to the Charity Game at night which must be highly anticipated, there is also a Basketball Carnival in the morning at AsiaWorld-Expo, featuring friendly games, showcases of trick shots, and other activities. The players will also be on-site to interact with the public and fans. During their visit to Hong Kong, these iconic players will also participate in community and sports-themed events, aiming to promote sports philanthropy and embody the spirit of Grow with Sports.

The Yao Foundation, established by the renowned basketball legend and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Yao Ming, has been organizing basketball charity events for over 16 years. Supported by the China Youth Development Foundation and the Chinese Basketball Association, the Yao Foundation is dedicated to promoting sports among rural youth in China. Its mission is to provide better education, enhance self-esteem, and improve health conditions for children in these communities.
