This is the first time the event is held in Hong Kong, China in the event's 57-year history and this year's event draws a record number of 49 teams (26 Men's and 23 Women's) with almost 200 top players in the world competing for the right to be crowned as world champions. Among them are Team Egypt as the reigning World Champion in both men's and women's events, Team England and Team United States as the runner-ups in the last Men's and Women's event.
Team Hong Kong, China had achieved excellent results in previous World Team Championships, capturing the bronze medal in the Women's event in 2016 and 2018, and bronze medal in the Men's event in 2017. With the recent selection of squash to debut in the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, this top-tier squash event is one not to be missed.
