Hong Kong Masters

«WE RIDE THE WORLD»

The Longines Masters continues its journey across continents, in Hong Kong.

After Paris and before New York, the Asian leg of the Longines Masters Series, the Grand Slam of Indoor Show Jumping, will take place from 15th to 17th February 2019 at AsiaWorld-Expo.
Now in its seventh edition, the Longines Masters of Hong Kong has become an integral part of the region's social and cultural calendar, combining heart-pounding competition by the world's top show jumping riders and horses with world-class entertainment, fashion, art and gastronomy.

Families can also enjoy a perfect day out at the kids zone by joining the first-ever Hobby Horse competition in Asia, complemented by exciting activities including the famous Longines Carousel and face-painting sessions.

The Longines Masters of Hong Kong - Gold Award Winner of the "Best Live Experience at a Professional Sport Event" at the Sports Industry Awards Asia 2016 - promises to deliver a three-day programme filled with spectacular show jumping action, lifestyle entertainment and heart-pounding sensations. The Longines Masters of Hong Kong, a highlight in the sporting and cultural calendar of the world city in Asia, is one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world that brings together decision-makers, VIPs and 30 of the world's best riders.

Some of the highlights of the 2019 programme include the very popular Hong Kong Jockey Club Race of the Riders on Friday evening, which features four Hong Kong jockeys partnering with four leading equestrian riders in a relay race. On Saturday evening, the event will focus on speed at the Longines Speed Challenge, which is considered to be the world's fastest class. Then, on Sunday, it is the grand finale with the Longines Grand Prix on stage, an Olympic-level event with a course featuring jumps up to 1.6 metres in height. The challenge provides an opportunity for riders to win the Longines Grand Prix of Paris, Hong Kong and New York all in a row. This intercontinental feat would be rewarded by a bonus of €1 million. Additionally, the new Super Grand Slam Bonus of €2.25 million will be awarded to the winner with a triple consecutive Longines Grand Prix victory in the same season.

Asia Horse Week: a unique networking platform for the equestrian community
At the conclusion of the successful first edition of Asia Horse Week, Christophe Ameeuw explained the vision for the event - and for the future.
"We want to create an annual rendezvous for the international equestrian players to bridge the knowledge, interests and know how between Asia and the rest of the world; an event where ultimately the entire equestrian culture and all horse-related professions and sports are represented," he said.
Last year's inaugural event attracted nearly 200 equine experts, and it was shared with the world - live - via social media, EEM TV, and leading international media outlets.
To that end, also, the Asia Horse Week Village will host a trade fair that will turn its spotlight on to where international institutions, brands and organizations are taking the sport through their services and their products. The fair will provide a platform for established industry players and those who might be new to the equestrian world to see what's on the market and what innovations are being developed.
Asia Horse Week is also all about networking as international speakers and industry influencers from across the globe gather together under the one roof. More than 40 countries will be represented and there will be countless opportunities to expand your own knowledge about the world of equine sports.

Raveling in elegance and sophistication
Alongside world-class show jumping, the Longines Masters of Hong Kong offers a rich and exciting programme in the Prestige Village.
Fashion addicts, art collectors and fine palates will enjoy the large variety of exhibitors, featuring top international brands and a feast of gastronomic treats to complement the journey at AsiaWorld-Expo. The Kids' corner will offer families exciting and educational activities throughout the 3-day event. The bar and lounge area stays open late into the night with fun, glittering after-parties with exclusive DJ sets. In addition, esteemed VIPs will get exclusive access to the EEM Society at the VIP tables, and an outstanding gourmet experience with unrivalled views over the main arena.

EEM.tv: the launch of a new exciting platform for equestrian sports. EEM.tv is an online platform that opens to everyone, with the goal of providing educational content, information and latest news about the global equestrian community. EEM.tv will certainly be the destination for equestrian fans, horse enthusiasts and amateurs alike as it will offer a free full-day live broadcast of the Longines Masters and Riders Masters Cup competitions.
